The mission was to develop a 70 MW hybrid power plant combining both photovoltaic and wind turbine technologies. Partnering with Sungrow, EPC Alin A.Ş designed a system using a modular inverter approach, utilizing 16 SG4400UD inverters to enable smooth grid integration. It also included over 141,000 bifacial PV modules, strategically placed to optimize light reflection and solar yield.
The first major hurdle of the project was the site's rough terrain, posing logistical and construction challenges. To ensure stable performance and optimized energy production, the system needed to be robust and flexible. All in all, the project faced significant complexities due to the level of coordination and component integration required, as well as the terrain conditions.
The final solution consists of several components, all working in tandem. The key elements were sixteen SG4400UD modular inverters, each made up of four 1.1 MW units. These were strategically distributed across the PV array and paired with Sungrow combiner boxes to ensure flexibility. Multiple MPPTs ensured optimal power conversion, while the system’s modularity allowed seamless adaptation to the challenging terrain conditions.

By combining solar and wind power, the project not only maximizes efficiency but also demonstrates a scalable model for future hybrid energy developments across challenging landscapes. The plant is expected to generate over 117 GWh of clean energy annually, marking a significant step forward in Turkey’s renewable energy transition.
