Hamburg, Germany, October 1, 2026 – At WindEnergy Hamburg 2026, Sungrow demonstrated how battery energy storage systems can make wind farms more flexible and efficient. The company's presence at the exhibition, held from September 22 to 25, focused on the grid-forming utility-scale battery storage system PowerTitan 3.0. Combined with wind power plants, battery storage systems can absorb generation peaks, shift energy delivery in time, and support grid stability.
This enables better utilization of existing grid connections while creating additional opportunities to monetize generated electricity. During the exhibition, Sungrow showcased how high-performance, grid-forming energy storage technology supports developers, operators, and utilities in implementing such hybrid renewable energy projects.
PowerTitan 3.0: Grid-Forming Utility-Scale ESS
PowerTitan 3.0 was developed to address the challenges of a modern energy system. A single 20-foot container integrates batteries with a capacity of 7.14 MWh. In a four-hour configuration, one storage block delivers 7.2 MW of power and 28.5 MWh of capacity, while supporting storage durations ranging from two to eight hours.
Its stacked battery cell design enhances both safety and efficiency, enabling a 92% system-level round-trip efficiency (RTE). PowerTitan 3.0 is factory pre-installed and supports self-configuration and self-testing within one hour. As a result, a 1 GWh project can be installed in just 12 days. The system operates without power derating down to -40°C, making it suitable for alpine regions, coastal areas, and locations with high humidity.
Visitors at the exhibition booth could also experience PowerTitan 3.0 through an immersive virtual reality application.

At WindEnergy Hamburg, Sungrow demonstrated how scalable storage solutions can be integrated into projects of different sizes and site conditions. In the new Energy Storage Hall, the Sungrow team engaged with project developers, operators, utilities, media representatives, and other industry stakeholders to discuss requirements for wind-plus-storage projects and technological solutions for reliable, flexible, and cost-effective energy supply.
