The District 12 Wastewater Treatment Plant plays a critical role in protecting urban water resources while also pioneering the integration of renewable energy into industrial operations in Vietnam. Since 2017, a 1.4MWp solar power system has been installed and operating at the facility, providing a reliable source of clean and sustainable energy to support the plant’s daily operations.

As one of the first Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar projects in Vietnam, the installation marked an early milestone in the country’s renewable energy development. At the time, the project required a robust and reliable technical solution capable of ensuring long-term performance under Vietnam’s demanding tropical climate conditions.
Key project highlights include: • Total Capacity: 1.4MWp • Core Equipment: Sungrow SG50KTL-M string inverters • Commissioning: 2017 • Benefits: Significant reduction in grid electricity consumption and annual CO₂ emissions
Since its commissioning, the solar power system has become a vital source of clean electricity for the facility, helping to optimize operational costs while reducing environmental impact. At the core of the system are Sungrow SG50KTL-M inverters, well known for their high efficiency and proven durability in tropical climates. After more than seven years of stable operation, the Sungrow system continues to demonstrate the long-term value of renewable energy investments. The project represents a strategic step in combining advanced wastewater treatment with sustainable energy solutions, contributing to a cleaner and greener future for the city.
