Project Background

Located in Čeľadice, Slovakia, this project showcases how industrial companies can successfully integrate solar energy into their operations. MINITÜB Slovakia, a leading biotechnology company, partnered with Sungrow and EPC contractor Enprotech a.s. to implement a customized photovoltaic system combining rooftop and ground-mounted installations. The 1 MWp solar plant enables the company to generate approximately 1,152,633 kWh of clean electricity annually while reducing CO₂ emissions by over 540,000 kg per year. By adopting solar energy, MINITÜB has taken a significant step toward improving energy efficiency, lowering operational costs, and strengthening its sustainability profile.

Project Challenge
As an energy-intensive biotechnology company, MINITÜB faced the challenge of managing rising energy costs while maintaining reliable operations. At the same time, increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions required a solution that could align economic and environmental goals. The project required a system that could be seamlessly integrated into existing infrastructure, maximize on-site energy generation, and ensure stable performance under varying operating conditions. Achieving high self-consumption while optimizing available roof and land space was also a key consideration.

Project Solution
To meet these requirements, a tailored photovoltaic solution was developed using Sungrow’s high-efficiency string inverter technology. The system integrates multiple inverter types, including SG50CX, SG125CX, and SG50CX-P2, ensuring optimized performance across different installation areas. The multi-array design combines rooftop, ground-mounted, and solar carport installations, maximizing available space while minimizing shading losses. With a performance ratio exceeding 90% and a specific yield of over 1,100 kWh/kWp annually, the system delivers strong and consistent energy output. This approach allows the plant to cover a significant portion of the company’s energy demand directly on site, while excess electricity can be fed into the national grid, contributing to broader renewable energy integration.
