For the residents of a single-family home near Konin, Poland, reliable electricity was essential to keeping their home comfortable and their heat pump running. However, frequent power interruptions and overloads in the previous backup systems repeatedly left the property without electricity. After three inverter replacements within a year failed to resolve the problem, the homeowners needed a more dependable solution. A Sungrow hybrid inverter and battery system was selected to address the instability and support the household during grid outages.

A 15 kW Sungrow SH15T three-phase hybrid inverter is paired with a 15 kWh SBH150 battery. With a backup switching time of less than 10 milliseconds, the inverter helps maintain power to the heat pump and other household loads when the grid supply is interrupted. AFCI arc detection adds a further layer of electrical protection. Alongside PV panels on the roof of an outbuilding, the system stores energy from an additional ground-mounted PV installation approximately 100 metres away through a retrofit configuration. During winter, the battery can also charge from the grid during lower-tariff periods, making stored energy available when needed. Built with lithium iron phosphate cells, the SBH150 features a modular design that allows storage capacity to expand to 40 kWh. Monitoring and remote configuration are available through iSolarCloud.

The Sungrow installation resolved the earlier power supply instability, giving the residents a more dependable energy system for their home and heat pump. Solar generation, battery storage and backup power now work together to support the household’s daily needs. By combining existing PV installations with flexible charging and energy storage, the project improves the home’s energy resilience and gives the residents greater peace of mind during power interruptions.
