Introduction

Located in Krasne, near Rzeszów, Osteomed is a clinic facing frequent power outages outside the city. Reliable electricity was a key priority, alongside smarter management of the building’s energy use. Working with Recosolar and Sungrow, Osteomed installed a rooftop solar system with battery storage and intelligent energy management. Designed to work with the building’s existing Loxone system, the installation brings solar generation, storage and backup power together in one coordinated solution.

Technical Solution

A 15 kW Sungrow SH15T hybrid inverter connects the solar installation to the battery system. Selected to match the clinic’s energy needs and existing building systems, it provides backup switching in around 10 milliseconds to help maintain power during grid interruptions. Comprising five 5 kWh modules, the SBH battery system delivers 25 kWh of storage. Its modular design allows the installed tower to expand to 40 kWh as future needs develop, giving Osteomed flexibility to increase storage capacity. At the centre of the installation, iHomeManager coordinates solar energy and battery use. Access to Nord Pool’s day-ahead electricity prices enables price-aware energy management, while integration with Loxone connects the energy system to the building’s wider smart management functions.

Final result

During its first two months of operation, Osteomed reported importing just 157 kWh of electricity from the grid. This provides an early indication of the clinic’s limited grid use during the reported period. Beyond everyday energy management, fast backup switching addresses a central concern for a clinic exposed to frequent outages. Solar generation, battery storage and integrated control now give Osteomed a more resilient and coordinated energy setup.
