For homeowner Nicolas Faivre in Besançon, France, investing in solar started with a practical goal: covering the electricity needs of his swimming pool pump, which runs intensively during spring and summer. Having recently purchased an electric vehicle, he also wanted to use solar energy to charge his car at home. To bring these needs together, Nicolas chose a complete Sungrow residential solution, combining rooftop solar, battery storage, EV charging and smart energy management in one integrated ecosystem.

The installation combines 8 kWp of rooftop PV panels with a 6 kW Sungrow SHRS single-phase hybrid inverter, an SBS050 battery with approximately 5 kWh of storage, and a 22 kW AC EV charger. Sungrow optimisers complete the system. At the centre of the installation, iHomeManager coordinates the connected components and offers different energy management modes, including self-consumption. By managing the hybrid inverter, battery and EV charger together, it helps the homeowner make better use of the solar energy generated on site. The system is monitored through iSolarCloud, giving Nicolas a convenient way to follow its operation from his smartphone.

The completed installation brings solar generation, energy storage and EV charging together around the household’s everyday needs. It provides a way to use rooftop solar for the pool pump and vehicle charging, while battery storage makes generated energy available for later use. With coordinated energy management through iHomeManager and monitoring through iSolarCloud, the project demonstrates how a complete residential ecosystem can support greater use of solar energy at home.

Nicolas chose Sungrow because it offered a complete solution for his home. The integrated ecosystem brings the hybrid inverter, battery, optimisers and EV charger together under one energy management system, supporting his ambition to use solar power for both the pool pump and his electric vehicle.
