In Ånge, Sweden, Delta Capacity and JV partner Wood & Co are delivering a landmark energy storage project designed to strengthen grid stability and accelerate Sweden’s renewable energy transition. With a total capacity of 70 MW / 160 MWh, the installation is currently the largest BESS plant in Sweden, setting a new national benchmark for utility-scale energy storage.

Located in one of Northern Europe’s most demanding climates, the system is engineered to operate reliably through extreme temperatures, heavy precipitation, and high snow loads. To ensure safe and efficient long-term performance, the project deploys 32 units of Sungrow’s PowerTitan 2.0 integrated with 16 MVS5140-LS medium-voltage stations, forming a fully integrated AC-coupled architecture designed for stable grid connection and scalable operation.

The Ånge BESS delivers both immediate operational value and long-term system resilience by providing fast-response storage capacity that balances supply and demand in real time, reduces intermittency from renewable generation, and maintains grid reliability during peak load and stress events. As the largest battery storage installation in Sweden, the project also reinforces confidence in large-scale storage deployment across the Nordic region, supporting the continued integration of renewable energy nationwide.
