JMG Cranes S.p.A. is the global leader in the design and manufacture of battery-powered self-propelled electric cranes, designed to operate with zero emissions and in full respect of the environment. Thanks to cutting-edge technology and a compact design, JMG solutions combine extraordinary lifting power with maximum environmental sustainability.

JMG Cranes has built two photovoltaic plants of great strategic importance, with a total capacity of approximately 1.8 MWp. The project combines a 1,301.61 kWp ground-mounted plant (supported by a 1 MWh BESS storage system) with a 494 kWp rooftop plant, marking a decisive step forward in the “Hydrogen Innovation” initiative. Funded through the PNRR – REPowerEU Mission call for proposals for the creation of Hydrogen Valley, the initiative breathes new life into the former Eridania industrial site in Sarmato. The area is thus being converted into a next-generation energy hub, where solar power is used directly to power an electrolyzer for the production of green hydrogen. The Open SB S.p.A. group oversaw the design and construction of the entire high-tech infrastructure. The holding company deployed advanced engineering expertise throughout the entire project chain. In line with Open SB’s standards of excellence, the project was developed by integrating the best technologies available on the market: the ground-mounted section was optimized through the installation of 9 Sungrow inverters (model SG125CX-P2, 125 kW) and 5 Sungrow storage systems (model ST225kWh-110kW-2h, 229 kWh), ensuring maximum energy efficiency, reliability, and operational flexibility.

The intervention included complex technical solutions, demonstrating perfect integration between renewable generation, storage, and hydrogen technologies. Despite the complexity of operating in an industrial conversion context, the project was successfully completed. The final result is a concrete example of decarbonization, capable of supporting the energy transition of the sector and driving the development of zero-emission solutions in the industrial handling industry.

Sungrow was chosen for its ability to offer high quality and reliability befitting a global leader, while maintaining an affordable cost compared with other competitors. This synergy of technology has made it possible to optimize energy management in support of the site's industrial processes.
