Schmees, a German renewable energy pioneer, is dedicated to accelerating the shift toward sustainable mobility. With the rapid growth of heavy-duty commercial vehicles alongside passenger EVs, Schmees needed a high-power, scalable, and reliable charging solution to serve the increasing flow of logistics traffic in its energy park. The key challenge was to deliver ultra-fast charging performance without compromising on operational reliability and efficiency under continuous heavy load.

Designing infrastructure for heavy-duty electric vehicles requires addressing a set of highly specific operational challenges. One of the primary requirements for Schmees was accessibility, ensuring that truck drivers could approach and charge their vehicles without the need to uncouple their semi-trailers. At the same time, the system needed to deliver exceptionally high charging power to meet the demands of modern e-trucks, while maintaining a high level of availability to support continuous operation in logistics environments. Beyond these functional requirements, the project also aimed to create a visually appealing and user-friendly charging environment that enhances the overall driver experience.

Sungrow deployed a 480 kW ultra-fast charging station, featuring four liquid-cooled charging terminals. This configuration enables simultaneous high-power charging for both heavy-duty trucks and passenger cars, minimizing fleet downtime while offering convenience for individual EV drivers. Leveraging advanced isolated air-cooling technology and a rugged system design, the solution guarantees safe, efficient, and stable performance in demanding operating environments.
