Ronico, a global leader in tulip cultivation, produces 200 million stems annually across extensive greenhouse and outdoor facilities. To support its energy-intensive operations sustainably, Ronico partnered with Zonzo and Sungrow to implement its largest solar project to date, installing 5,000 solar panels with 48 high-performance inverters. This initiative enables Ronico to generate its own electricity, reduce reliance on the grid, and advance its commitment to sustainable, efficient, and resilient production.
Ronico's large-scale tulip production requires significant energy to power greenhouses and cultivation operations. With annual consumption reaching 6.7 million kWh, the company faced the challenge of maintaining reliable energy supply while reducing its environmental footprint. Rising grid congestion and increasing energy costs further highlighted the need for a sustainable, self-sufficient solution that could support peak demands, improve operational efficiency, and align with Ronico's long-term sustainability goals.
To support its extensive tulip cultivation and sustainability goals, Ronico implemented a comprehensive green energy strategy in collaboration with Zonzo and Sungrow. The project included the installation of 5,000 solar panels—the largest solar installation completed by Zonzo to date—connected to 48 high-performance Sungrow SG33CX inverters. These inverters, valued for their robustness, high quality, and ease of installation, are designed for large-scale projects and feature advanced protections to ensure reliable, long-term operation with minimal maintenance. By generating 1.7 MW of power on-site, the system helps Ronico meet peak energy demands, reduce reliance on the grid, and advance sustainable, future-ready operations across its greenhouses and 300 hectares of outdoor cultivation.
Ronico, a company dedicated to spreading joy globally through tulips, operates extensive greenhouse and outdoor cultivation facilities, producing 200 million stems annually and forcing 130 million stems on-site. To support its sustainability goals, Ronico partnered with Zonzo and Sungrow to implement a large-scale solar energy system—Zonzo’s largest installation to date—comprising 5,000 solar panels connected to 48 high-performance Sungrow SG33CX inverters. The system generates 1.7 MW of electricity, helping Ronico meet peak energy demands, reduce grid reliance, and manage energy sustainably. By integrating advanced solar technology and flexible energy solutions, Ronico reinforces its commitment to efficient, future-ready, and environmentally responsible operations.
