The Background

EVN is an Austrian energy company and a key player in the transition to sustainable energy and mobility. With an extensive network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, EVN is committed to promoting green energy solutions. Since the beginning of 2024, EVN and Sungrow have partnered to integrate Sungrow’s DC charging stations into EVN's network. After a successful test period, Sungrow now supplies EVN with the IDC180E.

The Solution

The charging stations offer simultaneous charging with a maximum output power of 90 kW per port. Key features of these stations include IP65 protection, C5 corrosion resistance, and Sungrow's patented isolated air cooling system. In this system, the power modules are completely separated from the electronic components, resulting in minimal maintenance for the charging stations, as no filter mats or cooling liquid are needed.

I oversee the installation and operation of EVNs nearly 3,000 charging points, making us Austrias largest operator. We are rapidly expanding the network with diverse hardware, and for fast-charging stations have partnered with Sungrow for the past six months. Their units meet our large-scale needs and operate with outstanding reliability.
Florian Tatzber Project Manager at EVN
EVN had specific requirements, such as the manufacturer having proprietary power modules, the charging stations achieving an efficiency rate of over 96%, maintaining an uptime of more than 98% and providing responsive support from Sungrow.
Christos Tsegkis Regional Manager for EV Charging in the DACH region, Nordics and Southeastern Europe at Sungrow
Sungrows charging stations feature a compact design that delivers high power in a small form factor, while remaining extremely quiet. Though the fans are audible at full power, they are significantly quieter than those of many other manufacturers.
