The battery system has a power output of 30 megawatts and a capacity of 60 megawatt-hours. Sungrow is the world’s leading manufacturer of battery energy storage systems, with a mission to bring clean energy everywhere – including in the northernmost regions of Finland.
Located near the newly commissioned Fingrid Simojoki substation in Lapland, the site will initially house 26 Sungrow's PowerTitan battery arrays based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, delivering 60 MWh of capacity. The project covers 0.4 hectares and will play a vital role in stabilizing Finland’s growing renewable energy grid.
The solutions help stabilize the power grid as more renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, are integrated into Finland’s electricity network.
