Energy source
Hydrogen production system
Application
The project exemplifies the strategic vision of China's "Northern Hydrogen Valley." Designed as an integrated industrial chain—where green hydrogen consumes renewable power, green ammonia utilizes green hydrogen, and generation-grid-load-storage systems operate in synergy—the project can produce 32,000 tonnes of green hydrogen and 180,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually. With an estimated annual carbon reduction of 650,000 tonnes, it is set to become the world's largest green hydrogen-to-ammonia synthesis project.
The project is located in Da'an City, in the northwestern part of Jilin Province, China, where winters are characterized by clear but extremely dry and cold weather, with temperatures dropping as low as -30°C. To ensure stable equipment operation, insulation measures have been added to the equipment operational spaces to withstand the severe cold.
This pioneering project plays a vital role in enabling large-scale renewable energy integration, driving profound power sector reforms, and laying the foundation for a new power system with renewables at its core.
